Our Students

Areli Delgado
Areli is a sophomore at Rauner College Prep and has emerged as a leader in the class of 2010. Delgado attended Anderson School on Chicago’s northwest side before she came to Rauner, and enjoys the support and encouragement she receives from teachers most in her experience at RCP so far. Delgado has a 4.33 cumulative GPA and participates in a host of activities at Rauner, including the Robotics Team, the Building with Books club, and Rauner’s Early College Scholars program. Delgado’s outstanding achievement and leadership paid off when she was awarded a scholarship from the Right Angle Foundation to attend a summer college program at Georgetown University in Washington, DC after her freshmen year. She looks forward to further success in high school, would like to learn two more languages, and has a goal of attending one of the best colleges in the country. Though she hasn’t yet decided, she is interested in pursuing a career in medicine or education after graduating from college.

Percy Crudup
Percy is an outstanding scholar in Rauner College Prep’s class of 2010. Before coming to Rauner, Crudup attended the A.N. Pritzker Elementary School and came to RCP for its college preparatory programs and community service opportunities. Crudup has shined as a student athlete and model scholar at RCP earning a 3.4 GPA and playing on Rauner’s basketball and baseball teams. In addition, Crudup is on of the Robotics Team, has participated in honors math, and is a member of Rauner’s Early College Scholars program. He hopes to attend the University of Miami after graduating from RCP and is planning to pursue sports, acting, art, and mathematics in college.

Olivia Guzman
Olivia has quickly risen to the top of the class of 2010 at Rauner College Prep and was named one of Rauner’s Noble Way Award Winners by her peers in 2006 for embodying the values of scholarship, discipline, and honor. Guzman attended Luzano Bilingual Elementary School before coming to Rauner. She currently has a 4.35 cumulative GPA, and participates in the band, the Building with Books program, the Robotics Team, and Rauner’s Early College Scholars program. Guzman was recognized for her outstanding work in 2006 when she was awarded a Right Angle Foundation scholarship to attend Georgetown University’s summer college program. She studied modern dance and forensic science, lived on campus, and participated in college life after only her freshmen year of high school. Guzman hopes to attend a small liberal arts university after graduating and has many ideas in mind for possible careers, including history, psychology, writing, linguistics, and design.

Francisco Huerta
Francisco is one of Rauner College Prep’s highest-achieving scholars in the class of 2010. Huerta went to Pulaski Fine Arts Academy and came to Rauner because he knew the staff would help put him on the track to college. Huerta currently has a 4.12 GPA, plays the French Horn in the school band, is a starter for the soccer team, participates on the Robotics Team, and is a member of the Early College Scholars program. He has earned a reputation as a leader in his class by exemplifying scholarship, discipline, and honor each day, helping others with their studies, participating in community service opportunities, and serving as an ambassador for the school at special events. Huerta earned a Right Angle Foundation scholarship in the summer of 2006 to study at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. He hopes to attend either the University of Notre Dame or the University of Chicago after graduating from Rauner, and is interested in pursuing psychology, computer science, or archeology.

Marlene Arzuaga
Marlene is an outstanding scholar in Rauner College Prep’s class of 2010 who has embodied service and honor in her everyday work. Arzuaga attended Jonathan Burr Elementary and loves the self-discipline she is developing at RCP. Her current cumulative GPA is 3.23 and she works hard to contribute to the Rauner community at Rauner through clubs, community service, and programs. Arzuaga plays the flute in the school band, participates in the Robotics program, and is a member of Rauner’s Student Council. She is interested in attending the University of Illinois or the University of California-Los Angeles, and hopes to study medicine and become a pediatrician.

Patricia Davis
Particia is a Rauner College Prep scholar who has made incredible strides in her short time in high school. Patricia went to Cameron Elementary School and came to RCP to develop her self-discipline and knowledge as she climbs toward college success. Davis currently has a cumulative GPA of 3.23 and balances a full load of extra-curricular activities. She participates in CSW’s Upward Bound program, volunteers at the Garfield Park Conservatory, tutors children at I-Care Ministries, and is a member of Rauner’s Early College Scholars program. Davis loves that she can get help in whatever subjects she needs from the teachers at Rauner, and as she prepares for a possible career in fashion design, is interested in Columbia University, Amherst College, or Michigan State University.
